When architects Lacaton-Vassal[1] received the commission from the mayor of Bordeaux to redesign Léon Aucoc Square in 1996, they took no action. They found that the square was beautiful, had a good atmosphere and the town’s people were happy with it. According to Anne Lacaton, sometimes it is more important to think than to build.
